In accordance with the directives of the Chairman of the National Coordinating Committee for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, concerning the organization of two open days at the university level dedicated to showcasing and utilizing patents, the School’s Technology Support and Innovation Center, under the supervision of the Guidance Unit, is organizing a training day on patents and innovation in the technological field. This event will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, February 25th and 26th, 2026, in Lecture Hall B, and will be led by the Center’s Director, Professor Qrouch Khair Eddine, starting at [time missing].

Scientific Announcement and Tribute
The National Polytechnic School of Architecture and Urban Planning (EPAU) is honored to announce the official award of patent number 13064, issued by the Algerian National Institute of Industrial Property (INAPI).
This achievement, entitled “A Solar Thermal Photovoltaic Power Generation Panel,” culminates a highly significant collaborative research project.
This scientific recognition provides us with an opportunity to pay special and respectful tribute to our late colleague, Dr. Fatima Arhab. As a researcher in our school’s “Laboratory of the City, Architecture, and Heritage,” and a co-inventor of this project, she played a fundamental role in achieving this success.
Her recent passing has deeply saddened us within our academic community. The issuance of this patent today is a testament to her dedication, commitment to scientific research, and the excellence of her academic career within our institution. We would also like to congratulate all members of the research team and commend the fruitful collaboration with our institutional partners: the Center for Research in Scientific and Technical Information (CERIST) and Hassiba Ben Bouali University of Chlef.
May this official certificate remain a lasting testament to her work and valuable contributions to the school.
May God have mercy on her and grant her paradise.

We are pleased to invite you to the public defense of Ms. Isma Abdelatif, supervised by Professor Kahina Amal Djiar, for her doctoral thesis entitled “Contribution to the Water-Energy-Food Nexus Integration in Urban Planning using Urban Carrying Capacity in Algiers.” This research proposes a framework combining the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus and urban carrying capacity to support sustainable resource management in urban planning—a timely contribution to the future of our cities. Announcement for Doctoral Students with Delays
The Polytechnic School of Architecture and Urban Planning “Mujahid Hocine Aït Ahmed” informs all doctoral students who have not yet defended their dissertations, registered in any of the various systems (classical or LMD), that, in accordance with the correspondence issued by the Directorate General of Education and Training dated December 11, 2025, it has been decided to:
- Extend the deadline for doctoral dissertation defenses for students who have completed their work but were unable to defend within the legal deadlines.
This decision includes:
- Doctoral students in the classical system.
- Doctoral students in the LMD system.
Based on the same correspondence, an exceptional extension has been granted for the defense deadlines until December 31, 2026.
Teacher Recruitment
As part of the ongoing recruitment program for 2025, the Civil Engineering Department continued its recruitment interviews yesterday, for the fourth consecutive day, for the position of Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic School of Architecture and Urban Planning.
The school administration reiterates its commitment to attracting qualified academic talent that will enhance pedagogical supervision and scientific research, thus contributing to the quality of education.
The administration also extends its sincere thanks to the committee members for their high level of responsibility and professionalism, and wishes all candidates the best of luck.
As part of the awareness campaign launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in accordance with the recommendations of the National Coordinating Committee for Innovation and University Business Incubators, which aim to guide students towards patent research and development, the CATI Technology Support Center organized an awareness and training session for students with innovative projects and ideas at the Polytechnical School of Architecture and Urban Planning on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
The session was led by Professor Khourouch Khair Eddine, in the presence of Dr. Belouchrani Wahiba, Director of Studies, and representatives from various departments (Business Incubator, Entrepreneurship Development Center, University-Economic Liaison Office, and Artificial Intelligence Center).
Yesterday, Sunday, February 1, 2026, a new training course was launched at the Entrepreneurship Development Center of the Polytechnic School of Architecture and Urban Planning, in accordance with Decree 1275, coinciding with the conclusion of the project holders’ training course.
